Design Manager – High Precision Engineering

Reliability Engineering Industries Private Limited is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Design Manager – High Precision Engineering to lead the design and development of innovative engineering solutions using Solid Edge with PLM software. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and development of Mechanical Seals, Pumps, Compressors, and Valves, along with strong leadership capabilities to manage and mentor a team of engineers.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Quality functions, to ensure the successful development of high-quality, industry-standard products.

Design & Development Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models and assemblies using Solid Edge with PLM software.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and product specifications.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure design integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct engineering analysis and simulations to validate design performance.
• Optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and resolve design challenges throughout the product development cycle.
• Stay updated with industry trends, engineering technologies, and software advancements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering and Manufacturing teams during production.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry codes, regulations, and standards.

Leadership & Management Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering team in the design and development of industry-standard products.
• Provide regular technical training and mentorship to Engineers and Design Team members.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables across multiple ongoing projects.
• Ensure efficient allocation of engineering resources to meet organizational objectives.
• Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to management and stakeholders.
• Escalate critical project issues and risks when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and productivity.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
• Promote a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration within the Engineering Department.

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

• 5 to 10 years of experience in Design Engineering.
• Proven experience in Mechanical Seals, Pumps, Compressors, and Valves design and development.
• Prior experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex engineering projects is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proven expertise in Solid Edge or similar 3D CAD software integrated with PLM systems.
• Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, assembly design, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Ability to review and approve General Assembly (GA) and Component Drawings.
• Thorough understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience with engineering analysis and simulation tools is desirable.

• Strong knowledge of API and international engineering standards including:
  o API 610
  o API 682
  o ASME B73.1
  o ASME B73.2
